About Biblup

Biblup helps you learn English with Bible stories. You already know the stories; here you learn to read them and hear them in English, one sentence at a time.

Why Biblup exists

Many people give up on a new language because practice feels disconnected: random sentences with no story behind them. Meanwhile, plenty of people already know the stories of the Bible well.

Biblup puts the two together. A story you already know gives you the context, and context makes each new word easier to understand. You are not guessing what the sentence is about; you are learning how to say it.

Today Biblup is free: no card and no ads, and the first lesson needs no sign-up.

How the method works

Short steps, every day. Five minutes are enough to build the habit.

  1. Read and listen

Each story is told in simple English, with audio one sentence at a time. Tap any word to see what it means.

  2. Practice a little each day

Short exercises bring back a piece of the story: you choose, listen, build the sentence and, in the end, write something about yourself.

  3. Review and read the verse

Words come back on the right days, so you do not forget them. Every story ends on the Bible verse in English, with the words you know highlighted.

  4. Instructions in English, Portuguese or Spanish

Instructions and explanations are in English, Portuguese or Spanish, as you prefer. The language you learn is English, starting at the beginner level.

Not a church, not a denomination

Biblup is a language platform, not a church. The content is neutral between Christian traditions: just the Bible text, with no commentary, sermons or doctrine.

Christians of any tradition, and anyone who simply wants to get to know the Bible, can study here. Churches and groups of friends can also study together, with an invitation link.

Being open about how it is made

Some of what you see is made with machines. Here is which part.

  1. Written with AI, checked automatically

Stories, exercises, tips and word entries are produced with artificial intelligence and checked by automatic audits before they are published. No person reviews them first, so they can contain mistakes.

  2. Translated with AI

The texts of the site and the app in Portuguese, Spanish and English are translated with AI too. If something sounds wrong, tell us.

  3. Computer voices

The audio is made by computer voices, not by a human narrator. Biblup does not record or grade your pronunciation.

  4. Mistakes get fixed

In the app, every piece of content has a report button. A report can take a piece offline until it is fixed.

  5. Bible texts

The Bible texts come from open editions, each with its license and credit.
