Why is the English in the lessons so simple?

Updated on October 10, 2026

The sentences you translate and study in the lessons are not copied exactly from a traditional Bible. We rewrite them using simpler words and grammar.

We do this for an important reason: an official Bible translation often uses older words, very long sentences, or difficult structures that a beginner student has not learned yet. If we used the raw original text in the lessons, learning would be frustrating.

Our team takes the story of a verse (using the World English Bible as a base) and turns it into simple, everyday sentences, so you can learn useful real-life English while exploring the Bible. This way, you gain vocabulary and confidence before trying to read harder texts.

When you want to see the full text, just use the Original verse button to see the true, complete translation.
