What is review and how does it work?

Updated on October 10, 2026

Learning a language is not just about seeing new words; it's about remembering them. The review feature helps you practice the words and grammar patterns you have already seen before you forget them.

How it works

Behind the scenes, Biblup keeps track of every new word and rule you encounter. We use a method called "spaced repetition":

  1. Words you just learned or often struggle with will show up in your reviews frequently.
  2. Words you consistently get right will wait longer before appearing again.

When words are ready to be practiced, they become words to review.

Taking a review session

You can start a review session at any time from your dashboard or the daily goal area.

  • A review session gives you XP and counts toward your daily streak.
  • No hearts are lost: Just like in normal lessons, making a mistake in a review does not cost hearts. It simply tells the system that you need to practice that word again sooner.

Doing your reviews daily is the best way to ensure the language stays fresh in your mind!
