How do stories and lessons work?

Updated on October 10, 2026

Every topic in Biblup is a unit, and a unit is made of a sequence of lessons based on a biblical story.

The story

The first lesson of every unit is the story. Here, you will read and listen to the whole story from beginning to end.

  • The audio plays sentence by sentence.
  • You can tap on any word to see what it means.
  • If a native Bible is available in your language, its translation will appear below the text to help you.

You earn XP for finishing the story, and there are no exercises yet.

The lessons

After the story, the next lessons break that same text into smaller parts. Each lesson starts with a short slice of the story to refresh your memory, followed by 8 to 12 exercises.

  • Hints: We provide hints explaining how the language works before you practice it.
  • Mistakes: Making a mistake in a normal lesson does not cost hearts. We believe mistakes are part of learning. You will just see the correct answer and try again later in the same lesson.

The very last lesson of a unit ends with the original Bible verses, highlighting the words you just learned.
