How do I know if my browser is supported, and how do I update it?
Updated on October 11, 2026
Biblup runs in the browser, so it works best on a recent one. If you see a notice saying your browser is out of date, it means the browser is missing something Biblup needs to look and work the way it should.
Supported browsers
Biblup is built for these versions or newer:
- Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: version 111 or newer.
- Firefox: version 128 or newer.
- Safari: version 16.4 or newer (on iPhone and iPad, iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or newer).
- Browsers based on Chrome, such as Samsung Internet or Opera, in a recent version.
Internet Explorer and very old browsers do not work with Biblup.
What the out-of-date notice means
The notice appears at the top of the page when your browser lacks features Biblup uses. You can close it and keep going: Biblup does not block you. But some things may look wrong or stop working, such as buttons, colors, spacing or parts of the lessons. If something looks off, updating the browser is the fix.
When you close the notice, Biblup remembers it on this device and does not show it again.
How to update your browser
- Open your browser's menu and look for the About option: - Chrome: Help and then About Google Chrome. - Edge: Help and feedback and then About Microsoft Edge. - Firefox: Help and then About Firefox.
- The browser looks for an update by itself. When it finishes, restart it.
- On a phone or tablet, update the browser in your app store (Google Play or App Store).
Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac
Safari is updated together with the system. On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then General, then Software Update. On a Mac, open System Settings and then Software Update.
If your device is too old to receive the update, on a computer you can install a recent Chrome, Edge or Firefox, or use another device. On an iPhone or iPad every browser uses the system's engine, so installing another browser does not help: use another device.
